Mu Pact Agreement 2018

By on December 12, 2020 in Uncategorized

A similar rally took place this afternoon in front of NBC Universal Rockefeller Plaza headquarters in Manhattan. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), chairman of the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, said: “The parties are still a long way off. But I firmly believe that there is still time for both sides to unite to reach a fair agreement and I call on all parties to continue negotiations and to speak. Despite the huge success of streaming platforms, production companies such as Disney, Warner Media, NBC/Universal and CBS/Viacom pay musicians a fraction of what we get on traditional platforms such as theatres and network television. This agreement applies to content produced by independent television production companies (which produce content for all broadcasters, including the BBC) and film production companies. The agreement sets the minimum conditions for the promotion of session musicians and includes: We are pleased to have reached a three-year agreement with the Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television (PACT), which went live on 1 March 2020. The Jacksonville Symphony Association and its musicians` union have agreed on a new five-year contract that includes increases during the pact that will increase the base salary for musicians by 37 percent, currently 38,057 $US, to 52,026 $US. This agreement applies to internal BBC productions and sets minimum requirements for the integration of session musicians for BBC and radio content. The agreement includes: “… This new agreement is good for our musicians, good for the symphonic club and especially good for Jacksonville.┬áThe Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), in a letter to both parties last week, also called for “fair compensation and revenue sharing for musicians working on movies and streaming TV shows, [an agreement] that modernizes payment structures to reflect changing revenue streams. The AFM`s current contract with AMPTP expires on November 14. The musicians are currently receiving an extension of their 2015-2018 contract.

The new contract, which starts next season, will increase the base salary from 38,057 $US this season to 42,518 $US next season and increase the base salary by 19 percent during the contract. In the meantime, the season will increase from 35 weeks currently to 38 weeks during the 2017-18 season, 39 weeks in the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 season and finally 40 weeks from the 2020-2021 season. Symphony President Robert Massey described the fact that, eight months before the expiry of the deadline that the Board of Directors and the union had ratified in the first vote, negotiators from both parties reached an agreement “that reflects the unified vision of our board of directors, our musicians and administrative staff. Together, we have rethought what a symphony orchestra can be and developed a five-year strategy based on artistic excellence, collective commitment and financial growth.
